When I begin a new painting, I try not to think of what the end result will be. I simply start with nothing. A blank canvas. An open mind. Sometimes a general concept hits me, sometimes it doesn't. Most of the time I just scribble something on the canvas with pencil....then stare at it for a long time, wondering how I'm going to make it look half-way decent. Sometimes it comes out good, sometimes it doesn't. If I don't like the result, I smear black paint all over it and start again.
But when there is an end result worth keeping, I feel as though I accomplished something. Something out of nothing. My art is my passion. My escape from the daily grind. My way of releasing my pent up energy. My way of dealing with life.

Your work is lovely, Stella. Very powerful. I love everything about it; the colors, the play of light, the design, all of it.
You are very talented!
